In addition to this, many games would feature these ads despite not making any money from them themselves. ROBLOX was banned from Xbox Live in 2015 due to the game running advertisements which violated Microsoft's Terms of Service by being inappropriate for children. ROBLOX launched an option to buy TIX with real money on January 13, 2017.

They have also created a website called ROBLOX Studios which allows users to create and upload their own videos to YouTube in order to advertise their videos as well as doing tasks that can be made money such as editing videos, building websites, etc.[47]

Roblox has been accused of being an unprofitable company that does not pay royalties to its players. One of the users who quit Roblox because of this issue is a user named "Ezthero," a former moderator for ROBLOX's forums. Some others have also left the website after they learned that ROBLOX would get more money from their games if they did not sell them. However, Roblox has said that they do pay royalties to their users but only to those with large fanbases who are able to earn a lot from their games.

The company itself has not ever made such uses of VR technology but have given their developers access to the SDK in order to promote VR technology. The company is planning on releasing an SDK for Sony's Project Morpheus and Oculus Rift at some point in the future, although no dates have been officially announced. However, ROBLOX has been criticized due to their unusual less than the minimum end user license agreement. Roblox has released a new version of its app called Ava ROBLOX's Mobile Application.
